About the meme
The “Riot Dog” meme first surfaced during the Greek 2008 protests whereby a stray dog was see to always head the riotous protests. The dogs in the image series were stray’s to the Athens streets, Kanellos (“Cinnamon” in Greek) and Loukaniko (“Sausage” in Greek) have appeared many times in images coming from the Athenian protests spanning three years.
